Steve Wright, 49, of Ipswich, denies murdering the five women, who all worked in the red light district of Ipswich. The bodies of Gemma Adams 25, Tania Nicol, 19, Anneli Alderton 24, Paula Clennell and Annette Nicholls, 29, were found at remote locations near the town during a 10-day period in December 2006.
Prosecutor Peter Wright QC told jurors that blood from Miss Nicholls and Miss Clennell was found on one of Wright’s coats. The prosecutor asked him for an explanation – but Wright said he could not give one.The lawyer asked: “How did (Miss Nicholls’) blood get on the outside of the back of the right sleeve of your jacket?”Wright replied: “I couldn’t say.”
Mr Wright QC asked: “How did (Miss Clennell’s) blood get on the back of your left shoulder?Wright replied: “I have no idea.”The exchange came as Wright finished giving evidence in the trial. The 49-year-old former forklift truck driver has insisted he is a victim of coincidence and said he was not “any random psychopath”.He has admitted having sex with four of the women and said he was planning to have sex with Tania Nicol but changed his mind.SOURCE with Video
