Ladies and Gentlemen:
Before I begin this paper, allow me to make my position very clear:
Extraterrestrial beings and extraterrestrial craft exist.
I have, in fact, written several books in which I suggest that human beings are the direct result of the intervention by extraterrestrial beings in the evolution of prehistoric primates. I have suggested that a ‘hidden’ history of humankind exists, one that indicates that humankind has been guided, manipulated, and directed by, star beings. I have also suggested that we are the direct descendants of these very same star beings, that we possess in our veins the very blood of these star beings. Not only have I suggested that star beings are real but I have also suggested that they are still here…that they walk amongst us. In short, the evidence suggests clearly that UFOs and ETs are real.
Recently we released a paper entitled ‘THE UFO-MAFIA CONNECTION’. In this study, we suggested that IF there really is a ‘UFO Cover-Up’, then the Mafia plays an integral role in its execution.
Generally, the ‘Great UFO Cover-Up Conspiracy’ is said to include the CIA, a ‘secret government’, and a ‘super-secret’ society, usually the Masons or the ‘Illuminati’, who orchestrate the ‘Cover-Up’ from behind the scenes. Usually, this ‘secret society’ is also the power behind the…‘New World Order Conspiracy’. In this paper, we would like to once again examine the role of another ‘society’ which the UFO/New Age mainstream seems to have missed.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
Let us begin this paper by imagining that someday in the future the world has become a perfect place. In this ‘Paradise World’, in this Utopia, crime and corruption have been completely eliminated. There are no wars, no terrorist attacks and no violent acts of any kind. Everyone in this future ‘Paradise World’ has everything they need: food, houses, cars, stereos, health care, movies…anything and everything. No one needs anything, yet if something is desired, in ‘Paradise World’, opportunities exist for each and every individual to fulfill their every wish. Somehow, in some way, sometime in the future… Earth has become ‘Paradise World’.
Life in this future Utopia, however, continues to develop, striving constantly for newer and loftier achievements. In order to give direction to the growth of this perfect world, every citizen is given a voice in the events and the direction that ‘Paradise World’ might take. This is done by linking everyone in ‘Paradise World’ directly from their private ear-phones to a central Super-Computer that is perfect.
(Author - Yes, their ear-phone. By now, the cell phone has been reduced to nothing more than a tiny unit that looks like a hearing aid. Since the phone picks up the vibration from the bones in your head when you speak, there is no mouth piece. Likewise, the vibrations from the caller’s voice makes a resonance in your skull that is easily heard. Communication lines are linked directly to brain waves, so your phone number is your quite unique brain wave frequency pattern. To answer a call, one needs only to speak the appropriate pass-word out loud.)
The ‘Paradise World’ Super-Computer is so perfect that it cannot be corrupted in any way. No political party or arm of organized crime, no terrorists or super-hacker, nothing that can corrupt the computer of this future world. Free energy has removed any and all potential power surges or difficulties, external radiation is completely blocked off and the physical parts of the computer cannot corrode. Nothing can corrupt the computer in Utopia. (Remember, this is a hypothetical.)
In ‘Paradise World’, every issue is announced world-wide and is voted on by everyone. This is done by casting ear-phone votes which are sent directly to the perfect super-computer which in turn counts out the votes and reports the final count. Since everyone in Utopia willingly accepts the results - because it is a perfect world - the results of every referendum becomes a part of the way of Life of every citizen of ‘Paradise World’ from that moment on. This is the perfect government in a perfect world. It is of the people, by the people and for the people. Nothing can be done without a polling of the ‘Paradise World’ populace. This is, for lack of a better description, a ‘Paradise World’ Democracy.
Now, as attractive as the above scenario might sound to many, what we have just described is a ONE WORLD ORDER! Any time that only one form of government blankets a world, whether it is a Communist, or a Socialist, or even a Democratic government, it is, by definition, a ‘One World Government’, and thus…a ONE WORLD ORDER! A global Democracy is nothing less than a ONE WORLD ORDER! Yes, the people of the world have the freedom to vote on everything, and yes, it would be a World Democracy, but it would, nevertheless, still be a ONE WORLD ORDER!
Prominent on the UFO and New Age lecture circuit, are speakers and authors who continually expound on the dangers and undesirability of a ONE WORLD ORDER. Be advised…when next you attend an Expo and you hear a speaker railing against a ONE WORLD ORDER, if you read an Author who is speaking out vehemently against a ONE WORLD ORDER…remember, what you are listening to is an individual who is saying that he, or she, is against a world that would be totally united under a democratic form of government! The statement ‘I am against a ONE WORLD ORDER’ means exactly the same as ‘I am against a world completely united in democracy!’
Paradoxically, ‘a world united in democracy’ is the expressed aim of virtually every politician and politically active citizen of the United States. Any concerted effort to make this happen is, by definition, a plot. Thus, the endeavors of a unified group of individuals working towards ‘a world united in democracy’ is nothing less than a group participating in a plot, or a ‘conspiracy’, to establish a ONE WORLD ORDER! And should it ever be achieved, the world will witness something new, it will be a ‘New Day’ for the world, it will be a ‘New World’. In short, the ‘new’ World Democracy will be nothing less than a NEW WORLD ORDER!

The John Birch Society and the New World Order
You have probably heard of them before: the John Birch Society. They are an ultra conservative far-right-wing group that was one of the first advocates of the existence of the New World Order Conspiracy. What you probably didn’t know was that John Morrison Birch, the man for whom the Society is named, was never a member of the group! In fact, he didn’t even know the group existed! John Birch was a military intelligence officer who was killed by Chinese Communists while on a spying mission in North China in 1945…when he was only twenty-seven years old!
The John Birch Society was actually formed by Robert Henry Winborne Welch, Jr, a gentleman from Massachusetts who made his fortune making candy and jellies. (That’s right, Welch’s Grape Jelly!) Welch was a frustrated patriot warrior who went to the University of North Carolina for eight years, then went to the U.S. Naval Academy, and then to Harvard Law School (where he never received his law degree).
After reading about John Birch’s adventures in the intelligence world, Welch became obsessed with the young man. In fact, he was so taken with the idea that a young fundamentalist Baptist missionary could become an anti-Communist spy that he wrote a biography about Birch. In his mind, Welch believed that Birch was a ‘front-line warrior’ in the battle against the evil Communist Menace.
On December 8, 1958, Robert Welch brought together eleven of his friends in order to speak to them about John Birch and the devil-inspired Communist Empire. After two days of passionate oratory - viola! - the John Birch Society was born!

Now, according to the John Birch Society, the New World Order is “a megalo-maniacal communist plot to enslave the planet.”

The Russians were plotting to take over the world…from Lenin and Trotsky to Kruschev and Brezhnev. The Red Bear was on the prowl, searching for weaknesses in the fabric of American society. Jack McManus, who was the John Birch Society spokesman from 1973 on, said: “We believe that the conspiracy we’re fighting is a conspiracy above Communism. Communism is its chief arm, but at the heart of it is a powerful clique of individuals that mean to rule the world.”

Thus, according to the self-proclaimed experts of the John Birch Society, there are at least two elements to the New World Order Conspiracy: (1) Communism, the most visible arm of the Conspiracy; and (2) a powerful clique of people who want to ‘rule the world’.
As to who the ‘powerful clique’ might be, we turn to the late Gary Allen, a member of the John Birch Society and the author of NONE DARE CALL IT CONSPIRACY a virtual Bible for Conspiracy buffs. According to Mr. Allen: “Communism is an arm of a bigger conspiracy to control the world by power-mad billionaires.”

And who are the billionaires? According to Allen, they are the Rockefellers and the Rothschilds (billionaires, Allen tells us, who actually financed Lenin and his Bolshevik revolution). The second element of the Conspiracy now more clearly defined, we can refine the two parts to: (1) Communism, the most visible arm of the Conspiracy; and (2) the Rockefellers and Rothschilds, the power-hungry super-rich who want to ‘rule the world’.
The John Birch Society actually referred to the New World Order conspirators, the Rockefellers and the Rothschilds, as the ‘Insiders’. But the Birchers did not stop there. According to their research, the Insiders themselves were being manipulated by a super-secret society known as the ‘Illuminati’.

(Actually, Robert Welch and Gary Allen didn’t like the term ‘Illuminati’ for the ‘Secret Society’ bad guys. They chose the name ‘Insiders’ only after they rejected the names ‘Luminist’ and ‘Supercom’. And believe it or not, the name ‘Supercom’ was very likely a shortened version of ‘Super Communist!’)

According to the John Birch Society, then, the three elements of the New World Order Conspiracy are: (1) Communism, the most visible arm of the Conspiracy, (2) the Rockefellers and Rothschilds, the power-hungry super-rich who want to ‘rule the world’, and (3) the ‘Illuminati’, the ultimate manipulators behind the scenes. In short, a ‘Secret Few’ from a ‘Secret Society’ manipulate the ‘Super-rich Insiders’ and the Communists in an insidious plot to take over the world.
But is there any substance to these claims? Can we leave the world of whispers and rumors and find documented evidence which might support the existence of a New World Order Conspiracy?
Actually, according to researchers Jonathan Vankin and John Whalen, authors of THE SIXTY GREATEST CONSPIRACIES OF ALL TIME, we can.
“In fact, right-wing or left, suspicions about the New World Order are actually quite rational. The champions of the ‘New World Order‘ are indeed a cadre of powerful industrialists, bankers, academics, and politicians who for three quarters of a century have been a gray eminence behind the governance of Britain and America…Through vastly influential organizations like the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission, these elites formulate tomorrow’s public policy today and staff the ship of state with their own…If this network is something less than the Red devil depicted in many a right-wing conspiracy theory, it is nonetheless a kind of big business cabal that helps the elite of the private sector, if not ‘rule the world’, then at least run it like a business.”

So, from two authors who have researched every major conspiracy in the world today, we learn that there really are advocates of a New World Order.
(Author - The reader can likely recall countless other books, magazines and articles that quote George Bush, Zbignew Brzezinski, Henry Kissinger, etc. advocating the ‘New World Order’, and that these advocates are, at the very least, trying to run the world ‘like a business’. In other words, the New World Order is looking to make a profit, a key to our study. Profit is definitely a Rockefeller and Rothschild ambition, but is certainly not exclusive to them.)
Another expert on the New World Order was professor Carroll Quigley, a distinguished Georgetown University professor. In 1966, professor Quigley wrote a book called TRAGEDY AND HOPE, in which he said there “does exist, and has existed for a generation, an international Anglophile network which operates, to some extent, in the way that the radical Right believes the Communists act.” Actually Quigley claimed that he ‘had been close’ to the international organization and had actually been allowed to examine its ‘papers and secret records’. Based on his examination of the records, Quigley actually became an admirer of the ‘Secret Group’! Even though, according to Quigley, the New World Order wanted ‘nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole’.

Quigley’s book and observations obviously support the premise and existence of a New World Order Conspiracy and once again point out the Conspiracy’s desire, if not need, to control world finances. And controlling global finances in turn allows the conspirators to control political systems. To achieve its goals, the Conspiracy needs to make a profit…a big profit!
According to professor Quigley, the New World Order grew out of Round Table groups like the CFR that had been created by the diamond baron Cecil Rhodes. The American arm of the New World Order grew under the wing of billionaire benefactors like the Morgans, and the Carnegies and the Rockefellers. Quigley’s findings have been simplified into what has now become known as the ‘Four Rs: The New World Order Conspiracy consists of the Rhodes, the Rothschilds, the Rockefellers, and the Reds (meaning the Communists).

Common to the elements of the New World Order Conspiracy in both the John Birch Society scenario and the professor Quigley scenario is the link between the Super-rich and Communism. This link, of course, seems quite contradictory. How does one explain why the Super-rich Rockefellers/Rothschilds would embrace an ideology that is based on ‘common wealth’ and does not philosophically allow for the concept of a ‘Super-rich’ class? The most plausible explanation is that the Rockefellers/Rothschilds intend to force everyone else to put their wealth into the ‘common pot’, while they take absolute control over the ‘pot’.
But then, if Communism is an arm of the New World Order Conspiracy because it forces the ‘common man’ to contribute to a pot that is then controlled by the ‘Super-Rich’ Rockefellers/Rothschilds, why then can we not say that Democracy is also an arm of the New World Order Conspiracy? In a Democracy, citizens contribute to the government ‘pot’ (via taxes) which is very obviously controlled by big business interests (i.e., the Rockefellers and Rothschilds). In fact, any form of government that is supported by its citizenry, but which ultimately serves at the whims of the ‘Super-Rich’, qualifies for the definition of ‘an arm of the New World Order Conspiracy’.
Whether this argument finds favor or not with the reader, what is quite evident is that when the public record is examined, advocates of a New World Order actually do exist! What may be surprising to some readers is how often these advocates hold positions of power within the American government (George Bush, Zbigniew Brzezinski and Henry Kissinger, to name but a precious few) or are institutions which influence officials in government (Trilateral Commission, Council on Foreign Relations, etc.).
Actually, according to the Birch Society and other New World Order Conspiracy theorists, the two most prominent present-day instruments of the Conspiracy are, in fact, the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission. And there seems to be some very strong evidence to support this claim:
“In 1975, a Trilateral Commission report concluded that the United States was plagued by an ‘excess democracy’, when ‘what is needed is a greater degree of moderation in democracy’, to improve ‘governability’. Trilat co-founder Brzezinski recommended a study on ‘Control Over Man’s Development and Behavior’ to devise ‘new means of social control’, especially ‘in advanced societies’.”

And the Council on Foreign Relations leaves its own sinister trail as well. Since it was founded right after World War I (on July 29, 1921), the CFR has always been right smack in the middle ‘between the world of high finance, big oil, upper level corporate manipulations, and the U.S. government itself. CFR members have held cabinet level positions in almost every Republican and Democratic administration. Even our presidents have been CFR members. Policies that are put forth in the CFR quarterly journal, FOREIGN AFFAIRS, almost always become United States government policy.’

In April of 1974, the CFR journal, FOREIGN AFFAIRS, carried an article called ‘The Hard Road to World Order’. It was written by Richard Gardner of Columbia University. He wrote: “In short, the ‘house of world order’ will have to be built from the bottom up rather than from the top down. An end run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal assault’ - unquote. He went on to call for a ‘world structure that secures peace, advances human rights, and provides the conditions for economic progress’.”

As ultra-conservative as one might consider the John Birch Society to be, and as extreme as one might believe that the book NONE DARE CALL IT CONSPIRACY is, the above quotes go a long way towards supporting the claims that a New World Order Conspiracy does in fact exist. Certainly, numerous writers and researchers have written literally hundreds of books and articles expounding on the existence of the Conspiracy. The arguments and evidence is bountiful. Ultimately, the Reader will decide for himself or herself as to whether or not a New World Order Conspiracy really exists.

Communism and the New World Order
Let us assume that the Conspiracy writers and the Ultra-right wing John Birchers are right. Let us assume that there really are a ‘Secret Few’ individuals like the ‘Illuminati’, who use the Rockefellers, the Rothschilds, and Communism to achieve its domination of the world. Let us assume that a New World Order Conspiracy of some form really does exist. If this really is the case, if Communism really is an integral part of the Conspiracy, then the Conspiracy theorists have a problem. And exactly what is the problem?
The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991!
In November of 1989, the Berlin Wall came down. Gorbachev was the General Secretary of the Communist Party and assumed the presidency of the USSR until 1991. In June of 1991, Boris Yeltsin was elected president of the Russian republic in the first direct elections ever held in Communist Russia. The tenuous relationship between General Secretary Gorbachev and President Yeltsin remained fairly peaceful until August of 1991, when the KGB and other military leaders attempted to over-throw Gorbachev. In December 1991, Mikhail Gorbachev agreed to resign his post and sign the Minsk Agreement with Boris Yeltsin. The terms of the agreement essentially did away with the Union of Soviet Socialists Republics and turned the entire country into the Commonwealth of Common States. On January 1, 1992, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics no longer existed!
So a problem surfaces for the New World Order Conspiracy theorists: if Russia fell, if the Communist Empire no longer existed, then surely the New World Order Conspiracy must also have fallen.
No, it may be argued. The fall of the Kremlin was nothing more than a facade intended to deceive us. Nothing really changed! The Communists and the ‘Illuminati’ were trying to lull us into believing that the Red Menace had disappeared, when it actually did nothing more than change itself superficially. Certainly a plausible argument on the surface, but the actions of President Yeltsin seem to deny that premise.
In February, 1992, President Boris Yeltsin began dismantling the Russian nuclear weapons arsenal. In January, 1993, Yeltsin signed the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (SALT) and followed that up in April by calling for government elections. In June of 1993, Yeltsin called for a Constitutional Assembly to write a new Constitution. While this is only a brief overview of the actions taken in the new Russia, it is clear that the once powerful Communist menace was slowly and surely being dismantled. In fact, survival seems to be the point of the day in today’s Russia. America’s once ‘Evil Empire Enemy’ is now seeking our assistance in keeping itself alive. Its most basic institutions seem to be very democracy-oriented, at least on the surface.
So what is happening here? How does the New World Order Conspiracy and the fall of Russia fit together? Is it possible that the John Birch Society and the Conspiracy writers were wrong? Is it possible that the Communists were never really part of the New World Order Conspiracy at all?
Certainly. But if the John Birchers and the Conspiracy writers were right, that the Communists played an active role in the Conspiracy, then the only conclusion that we can logically come to is that the New World Order Conspiracy has either fallen apart, or at the very least, it has lost its extraordinarily powerful ‘front’. (Whatever the answer might be, it is interesting to note that the New World Order Conspiracy buffs have stopped including the Communists in their talks in the last few years.)
Ladies and Gentlemen, is it possible that the New World Order Conspiracy, as presented by the John Birchers and other theorists, is falling apart?
Actually, there is evidence to suggest that this might very well be the case.

The Fall of the New World Order Conspiracy (?)
On October 10, 1973, Spiro Agnew resigned as Vice-President of the United States and pleaded no contest (no lo contendere) to charges of income tax evasion. On December 6, 1974, President Richard Milhous Nixon appointed Gerald R. Ford to the office of the Vice-President of the United States. What is important to note is that Gerald Ford was not elected to the office of the Vice-President, he was appointed! And the significance?
Gerald R. Ford, a Thirty-Third Degree Freemason (!), was a heartbeat away from the office of the Presidency of the United States. If a New World Order Conspiracy existed, the Freemasons, and possibly the ‘Illuminati’, must have been holding their collective breath.
What happened next seemed as if it had been taken right out of a Conspirator’s Manual of Operations. Richard Milhous Nixon, 37th President of the United States, resigned his office on August 9, 1974! Gerald R. Ford ascended to the office of the President of the United States. For the first time in history, a man had held both of the offices of the Vice-President and President of the United States, yet he had not been elected to either! And…he was a Thirty-Third Degree Freemason! If this does not look suspicious, if this does not look like the manipulations of a ‘secret society’, we cannot imagine what else would.
Then an even more incredible thing happened!
On December 19, 1974, Thirty-Third Degree Freemason Gerald R. Ford, President of the United States, appointed Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller to the office of the Vice-President of the United States! A High-level Freemason and a Rockefeller occupied the two highest offices of the United States of America! And neither one had been elected! Surely, this would have been the crowing glory and achievement of the New World Order Conspiracy…and the beginning of the World Take-over!
But then…something completely unexpected happened!
In November 1975, almost exactly one year later, Nelson Rockefeller announced that he would not run for the Vice Presidency in 1976. Why? What happened? As a result of Rockefeller’s resignation, Gerald R. Ford chose Bob Dole as his running mate. That same year, Thirty-Third Degree Mason Gerald R. Ford was defeated by then Governor of Georgia, Jimmy Carter…who wasn’t even a Mason!
In 1975, a Thirty-Third Degree Mason and a Rockefeller occupied the White House, neither one had been elected to office, and yet, after only one year in office, in the 1976 election, they were both gone! If there really is a New World Order Conspiracy, what happened?
Can we find any clues in the backgrounds of the candidates? Let’s look at the Ford-Carter election again. Ford was a Thirty-Third Degree Mason, Carter wasn’t even a Mason. Ford was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations…but so was Carter. Ford was a Bilderberger, but Carter was a Trilateral Commission member. So, does a Trilateral trump a Bilderberger? (Jimmy Carter, by the way, had 284 CFR and Trilateral members in his administration).
Then Ronald Reagan defeated Carter, but Reagan was neither CFR or Trilat…so how does he win? Perhaps because VP George Bush was a member of the board of directors of the CFR, a Trilateral member, and had intimate links to the CIA. So, does a CIA-CFR-Trilateral-VP trump a Trilateral-Bilderberger Pres? (Reagan brought in 313 CFR and Trilateral members into his administration).
Reagan served his two terms then left office. Vice-President George Bush ran against Michael Dukakis and Lloyd Bentsen (who?), winning 80 percent of the Electoral votes. (The ex-CIA-CFR-Trilateral-VP now Pres brings in 382 CFR and Trilat members into his administration).
But then, ex-CIA-CFR-Trilateral-VP-now-Pres George Bush ran against the essentially unknown William Jefferson Clinton who is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderbergers. Bill Clinton wins with 70 percent of the Electoral votes. (So, ex-CIA-CFR-Trilat-VP-turned-Pres is trumped by CFR-Trilat-Bilderberger!)

Confusing? It is to us. No reasonable pattern seemed to emerge, so the ‘Renegade’ crew began its investigations. What we have discovered is startling. There probably is a Conspiracy of sorts, but it is not a New World Order Conspiracy, it is more like a One World Order Conspiracy.
Is there a difference?

The ‘Illuminati’
The ‘Illuminati’ Society was officially formed in Bavaria by Adam Weishaupt. Weishaupt was a professor of law at the University of Ingolstad when he joined a Freemasons’ Society in 1774, and while he found merit in some of their works, he was unsatisfied with the resultant works of the group.
After establishing himself in one of the Bavarian Lodges, Weishaupt found five members with whom he felt some kinship and began his own group, on May 1, 1776. His new society would become known as the Order of Perfectibilists, better known as the Bavarian ‘Illuminati’.
While Weishaupt was certainly instrumental in giving the group its start, were it not for the efforts one Adolf Francis, otherwise known as Baron Knigge, Weishaupt’s ‘Illuminati’ would not have grown or survived. Baron Knigge was, by 1780, one of Europe’s leading Masons. While the baron himself had tried for years to unite all the European lodges into one large group, it was Weishaupt’s ‘Illuminati’ Society that seemed to provide the vehicle for the desired results. Through Knigge’s effort, ‘Illuminati’ rolls quickly grew to over three thousand. By choosing what was supposed to be the ‘cream of the Masonic crop’, Weishaupt’s ‘Illuminati’ appeared to have the makings of a society whose influence and power could move governments and kingdoms. By 1782, the ‘Illuminati’ appeared to have gained domination over European Masonry.

Reports have been handed down that reveal ‘Weishaupt’s Illuminism utilized ‘secret rites, grotesque ceremonies and fantastic costumes’…(and) it sidetracked its recruits out of the normal Masonic degrees of initiation and into an eight stage series designed to give absolute obedience to Weishaupt and fellow ‘Illuminati’…In addition, the ‘Illuminati’ promoted revolution and worked towards the ‘overthrow of church and state authorities who were seen as stumbling blocks to progress’.

Unfortunately two continuing factors contributed to the demise of the order. One was the arrogance with which Weishaupt treated his membership, the second was the spilling of secrets by disillusioned defectors. Weishaupt often treated the general membership of the ‘Illuminati’ as virtual lackeys for the upper echelon directors of the society. This, of course, led to disillusionment…and desertions. Ex-members who were ready to reveal their knowledge of the workings of Weishaupt’s group, either from their frustration or simple revenge, proved to contribute to the society’s undoing. Careless actions by other members soon provided Bavarian authorities with damning evidence that made the ‘Illuminati’ a target for elimination. Once the monarchy discovered that the Order secretly supported and promoted the overthrow of authorities…and the Church… Weishaupt and his order doomed.
In June, 1784, the Bavarian monarch issued an edict outlawing all secret societies in his provinces, an act which spelled official death for the ‘Illuminati’. Another edict was issued in March, 1785, this one specifically outlawing the ‘Illuminati’ and providing rewards for those who revealed their knowledge of the organization and punishment for those who persisted in its activities.

By 1790, Weishaupt and his organization had effectively faded away. Rumors persist that the ‘Illuminati’ did not die away, that they transformed themselves into another society which made its appearance in Germany in 1810 under the name The Tugenbund.

Did the ‘Illuminati’ really disappear? Conspiracy believers suggest they did not, that they had already infiltrated the higher offices of power throughout Europe and simply remained underground. Is this a plausible position?
Certainly. But in considering this possibility, we cannot ignore the fact that Weishaupt’s arrogant treatment of the general ‘Illuminati’ membership hardly inspired the loyalty of followers. Weishaupt was also clearly not responsible for the growth of his society, it was solely through the efforts of Baron Von Knigge that the membership grew. In fact, it was because of the revelations of disillusioned and frustrated members that caused Bavarian authorities to target the ‘Illuminati’ for elimination. None of these factors would seem to support the premise the Weishaupt could have kept the ‘Illuminati’ order alive, not without significant change in his manner of administration.
At this point, we offer another usually overlooked, but highly significant piece in the mystery of the New World Order Conspiracy.

The Age of Enlightenment
It was the late 1700s, the Age of Enlightenment. France dominated the European continent. All of the major courts in Europe modeled themselves after the French Court. Paris was the model city for all foreign nations. Paris set the standards for fashion, for taste, for the arts for good manners and even for wit and humor. The French influence was everywhere and permeated every-thing. Louis the XVI was in power. And…‘Secret Societies’ were the rage. Everyone of reputation belonged to one ‘Society’ or another. Secret handshakes, secret signs and secret passwords were the mark of nobility. Hidden in a wink or a nod was the ‘secret’ status of a person…it was the ‘in’ thing…it was the exciting thing to do.
The Enlightenment and its trappings, however, was for the elite, the nobility and the upper classes, also known as the ‘bourgeoisie’. The commoners wallowed in their misery and their ignorance, the ‘mysteries’ were simply not for them.
According to The HARPER ATLAS OF WORLD HISTORY, the philosophies and mysteries of the Enlightenment were transmitted, ‘by way of national and provincial academies and masonic lodges (English and Scottish in origin)…’

In short, Masonic Lodges were in full swing during the Enlightenment. They were, in fact, one of the principal mediums for conveying the ideas and thoughts of the times through the ranks of the privileged.

It was as if, on a given signal, the entire world exploded in revolution! But how could that be? How could a ‘Secret Society’, any ‘Secret Society’, bring about revolutions all over the globe…including Native Peoples in relatively isolated areas? What earthly force could have caused this to happen?

The French Revolution brought about chaos in Europe. From 1799 to 1815, Napoleon Bonaparte ruled France, while his family held Spain, the Kingdom of Italy (which is actually Northern Italy) and the Kingdom of Naples (southern Italy).

In 1815, Napoleon was defeated, resulting in Italy being divided into the Tuscany states (Northern Italy), the Papal States (Central Italy) and the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies (which is actually Southern Italy and the Island of Sicily). Forty years later, Count Cavour, the Prime Minister of Piedmont took control of Northern Italy.
In 1860, an Italian hero named Giusseppe Garibaldi successfully invaded the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and conquered them. As a result of Garibaldi’s success, Italy was united under the rule of King Victor Emmanuel and was officially proclaimed the Kingdom of Italy, all except for the Holy City of Rome, which remained independent. In 1862, Garibaldi attempted to take Rome and the Papacy, but was driven back by the French forces of the Emperor of France that had been summoned by the Papacy itself. It was not until 1870 that Rome was taken by Italian forces and became the capitol of the country on 1 August 1871. Italy was finally united.

And the point of this exercise? It serves as an introduction to one of the most non-secret ‘secret societies’ ever encountered. A society that was well known a hundred years ago and which still remains well known. Its influence is everywhere and it is virtually unstoppable in its activities. And what or who is this famous ‘secret society’?
It is…the Mafia.

The Mafia
In 500 B.C., Rome was the major power in the Mediterranean. By the Fifth century A.D., the invasion of Germanic tribe caused the break-up of the Roman Empire into numerous aristocratic territories and city-states. In the Tenth century A.D., the city-states of Venice, Genoa, Siena and Florence had become major powers. Shortly after, however, in the 1100s and 1200s, a series of invasions and incursions, from the Arabs, the Germans, the Spanish Aragons, the Greeks and the Angevins brought chaos and disunity to the region. By the time of the Enlightenment, the people of the lands that would later become Italy were disillusioned and angry.
If one understands that ‘Secret Societies’, including and especially the Mason groups, were plentiful during the time of the Enlightenment, it should come as of no surprise that the Italian people as a whole were very disappointed with their own Italian ‘Secret Societies’ and their leadership. A once glorious region had lost its place in the new world. France had supplanted Italy as the world center of culture, philosophy and the arts. Disillusionment was everywhere.
Enter Giusseppe Mazzini, born in Genoa in 1805, the son of a university professor and a mother convinced her child was destined to become a new messiah.

Young Guisseppe Mazzini attended school at the Royal College of Genoa, a place where boys were principally preoccupied with the problem of how to overthrow authority. ‘There they learnt that if you wanted to achieve any purpose, if you wanted to ‘down’ an arrogant bully amongst the boys, you formed a secret society to do it…The great thing was to belong to a secret society. That, alone, enabled you to act effectively. Secret passwords, secret gestures, handshakes with the fingers in peculiar positions - these were the means of mutual identification, passports to a hidden world where great deeds were planned.’ Once again, we have to emphasize that ‘secret societies’ were everywhere in Europe at the time, and it was no different in Italy.

Mazzini was first arrested the day just before his sixteenth birthday, and in less than a year, had joined in his first revolt in the streets. At the age of 22, Mazzini joined the Carbonari, a ‘secret society’ composed of a curious mixture of cut-throats and aristocrats who were united in their efforts to overthrow the barbaric foreign authorities in their land. This absolutely suited Mazzini who hated authority of any kind. It was in the Carbonari that Mazzini honed his skills as a revolutionary.

“In 1820, Czar Alexander and the Habsburg Emperor acted together as members of the Holy Alliance to prevent revolution in Italy. They believed that the new revolutionary fever in the country had been encouraged by a secret society known as the Carbonari or Charcoal Burners. This sect had originated in Scotland at the time of Robert the Bruce and had spread to France, Germany, Poland and Italy. In common with Masonry, the Carbonari were a medieval guild organized by charcoal burners who travelled the country selling their wares. Although nominal Christians the charcoal burners practised rites which had pagan features and, in defiance of the Pope, preached religious freedom and the ending of oppression and tyranny. Allegedly the Carbonari had connections with both Freemasons and the ‘Illuminati’.”

Unlike most of the members of the Carbonari, however, Mazzini was a fire-ball with but one simple yet passionate dream: a united Italian Republic. Pietro Svegliati, an Austrian spy in Italy wrote of Mazzini: “The character of this young enthusiast is most dangerous because, being free from any semblance of any personal interest, he lives only for the regeneration of Italy, being ready, in order to gain that, to meet every danger, to sacrifice everything, even life itself, adopting even, when necessary, the role of the assassin where this may redound to the advantage of Italy.”

In 1831, Mazzini formed a youth group called Young Italy. Its purpose was simple: to fight unceasingly for a United Republic of Italy.

Mazzini proudly proclaimed his new society: “As the standard-bearers of Italy’s rebirth, we will lay the foundation stone of her religion.”

Patterning his new society after the Carbonari, Mazzini insisted that his Young Italy members carry a dagger, a rifle and fifty cartridges. All members of the society had to be Italians, they were to be known as ‘Brothers’, and they would use whatever means possible to enter into ‘positions of public responsibility’. Traitors and tyrants were to be eliminated, betrayers of the society were to be terminated immediately.

And Mazzini was not above bending the rules, he freely admitted, “We aspire to corrupt in order to rule.”

What many authorities of the time had failed to grasp was that, unlike the Carbonari or other revolutionaries, Mazzini really meant business, “he meant to clear out the existing authorities and to found a New Order. And that Order would be his Order because he was determined that, during the critical early stages of war and revolution, he would himself be leader.”

Mazzini kept up his revolutionary activities, his Young Italy members seized every opportunity to harass and attack the powers in control. To finance their activities, the Young Italy members robbed banks, stole jewelry from the aristocracy, black-mailed extorted money from the rich, and committed assassinations. Money was raised in any manner possible, breaking the law was neither a consideration or a deterrence, quite the contrary, its nuisance and hindrance value to the authorities was a welcome and desirable by-product.
In 1833, Charles Albert, King of Piedmont-Sardinia found that whole regiments of his military had been ‘infected with Mazzinism’. The disclosures were devastating to Mazzini’s plans because they revealed and destroyed the vital part of Young Italy’s effort, its penetration of the army.

As a result, in 1834 and 1835, a fresh round of repression drove many of Mazzini’s new followers into exile; and for a time the cause of revolutionary nationalism appeared almost dead.

In 1837, Mazzini himself left to England. While it is generally accepted that he fled to escape capture, it is also likely that there was another reason which motivated him to go to the British Isles. Mazzini had made contact with a ‘secret society’ that would finance and assist in his efforts to unify Italy.

Constantly in need of funds, in 1832, Mazzini was approached with a unique offer. In a letter to a friend, he wrote: “A certain person has offered me a loan of 100,000 francs, and more if I need it, for the coming uprising. He offers it as broker for persons unspecified…25 per cent interest…as guarantee…a traveller to be allowed to go into Italy, make contact with the Congregations, discover whether the prospects are really good.” While experts are still unclear as to who the ‘persons unspecified’ actually are, it appears fairly certain that the contacts were members of the British Freemasons.

What was it about Freemasonry that attracted Mazzini? Both Mazzini and the Freemasons despised the Catholic Church. “The peculiar animus with which Mazzini attacked the Church, which helped to drive him on to construct his own theology, was part of his opposition to the ruling political powers of his day in Italy and of his anger at finding the Church generally supporting them. This led him, in the words of the Principessa di Belgioioso, to characterize Christianity as ‘a stupid and treacherous superstition, thrown in the eyes of the people to blind them and make them obedient to the clergy who had made themselves the chief instrument of the tyranny of the kings’.”

In 1848, by the time Mazzini returned to his beloved Italy, he had established himself within the Masonry hierarchy. Not coincidentally, in 1848, new stirrings of rebellion began again in the Italian provinces. Sicily was demanding its freedom from Naples, constitutional states were having problems with law and order, and Italy’s war with Austria had failed. Mazzini, sensing opportunity, began making plans. ‘The royal war is over’, he declared, ‘the war of the people begins’! In November of 1848, Italian revolutionaries attacked the pope in the city-state of Rome. So terrifying was the attack that the Pope fled the city of Rome. Mazzini and his followers then congregated in Rome hoping to organize a full rebellion. But the people of Italy would simply not act. Mazzini’s hopes for a national revolution were once again dashed. Yet Mazzini persisted, holding resolutely to his dream.

Twelve years later, in 1860, a young man named Giusseppe Garibaldi invaded the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and conquered them with his army that became known as ‘The One Thousand’. No one expected him to win, his army was made up of mostly teenagers and very young men, far too young everyone believed. But win he did! With the assistance of some rebels hidden in the hills, Garibaldi accomplished the impossible! To this day, his victory is considered nothing short of a miracle and a testament to his courage and bravery. Giusseppe Garibaldi became a true Italian hero.
The question that has to be asked is: How? How could Garibaldi achieve the impossible? The answer can now be traced to two reasons: (1) The Freemasons; and (2) the Mafia!
When Garibaldi landed at Marsala with his famous ‘Thousand’ on the 11 May, he found everything ready. Why?
First, because the political power and influence of the Freemasons was supporting his quest: Count Camillo Cavour, Prime Minister of King Victor Emmanuel of Piedmont, and Giusseppe Mazzini, had agreed that the destruction of the papacy was the key to the unification of Italy. And believe it or not, Cavour, Mazzini and Garibaldi were Grand Masters in the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rites of Freemasonry!

And secondly, Garibaldi had the power and influence of a fledgling group known as…the Sicilian Mafia!
Before the incursion, Garibaldi and his Freemason cohorts saw Sicily as an ideal base to start the liberation and unification of Italy. To weaken the defenses of the Island Kingdom, Garibaldi sent his follower Francesco Crispi to foment a rebellion. Any means justified Crispi’s ends, as he was to show later when he became Prime Minister and armed bands, Mafia gangs and freed criminals became ‘Italian patriots’. On 11 May 1860, five weeks after the initial Sicilian rising, Garibaldi landed at Marsala with a thousand men and proclaimed himself dictator of Sicily, ruling on behalf of King Victor Emmanuel. A Venetian officer wrote: “The Sicilian revolution turns out to be little more than country bands…composed for the most part of notorious bandits who fight the government just as an excuse to fight the landowners.”

It is well at this point to briefly review the history and birth of the Sicilian Mafia. In 1487 the Spanish Inquisition installed itself in Palermo. What is generally not known is that it was the Inquisition itself that sowed the seeds and established the patterns of behavior which would later be the foundation of the Mafia crime lords. Using their unrestricted autonomy, the Inquisitors shielded the rich nobles of the island kingdom while punishing the common man.
These protected few became known as the ‘Familiari’ and could ‘kill, steal or blackmail with impunity’ and could seize property by simply denouncing the target as a non-believer. By the time the agents of the Spanish Inquisition had left the island in the late 1500s, the Sicilian people had learned the ways of the ‘Familiari’ well. By the 1600s, corruption and violence was the way of life in Sicily, thanks to example set by the agents of the Inquisition!
But the real authority in rural Sicily was allowed to come into existence by the idleness and snobbery of the nobility, who lived mostly in Palermo to be near the Court. They were absentee landlords, unwilling or unable to manage their own estates, and therefore leaving a vacuum which was filled by the formation of a new class of ‘gabelloti’, or estate managers, to whom they rented their fiefs. The ‘gabelloto’ exploited the peasantry even more than the barons had done, asserting his new position with brute force and solving any complaint by habitual violence.
The ‘gabelloti’ in their turn recruited other personnel, naturally from among their kinsmen and friends. Their ‘uomo di fiducia’ (henchman, confidant) was the ‘soprastante’, who combined the functions of overseer and tax collector. He dealt directly with the peasants, with the assistance of the ‘campieri’, armed, mounted field-guards, watching over the animals, the crops, and above all the peasantry. The ‘campieri’ dressed and talked in a special way. Their violent methods were the main condition of their employment and made them ‘uomini di respettu’, ‘men of respect’, which in Sicily does not mean that they were respectable but that they commanded respect by terror and murder. By the time Garibaldi invaded Sicily, the Sicilian Mafia was ready to join in his rebellion.

And lest one believe that Garibaldi was acting from a completely beneficent position, it should be remembered that upon his arrival and success, he proclaimed himself the ‘dictator of Sicily’, claiming that “dictatorial rule (was) the best form of government in times of emergency.”

Through the combined efforts of Giusseppe Garibaldi, Giusseppe Mazzini, Count Camillo Cavour, the Freemasons and the Sicilian Mafia, the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies fell. Italy, under the rule of King Victor Emmanuel, (except for the city of Rome), was one united republic.
In 1862, pressing his success forward, Garibaldi attempted to take Rome and the Papacy, but was driven back by the French forces of the Emperor of France that had been summoned by the Papacy itself. It was not until September 20, 1870, that Rome was finally taken by Italian forces. (Rome became the capitol of Italy on 1 August 1871.)

September 20, 1870…a day that plays a significant role in our study. Not because it is the birthdate of the country of Italy, but because it is the birthdate of another institution, one that every Conspiracy investigator and researcher should become familiar with.

The Order of the New and Reformed Palladian Rite
On September 20, 1870, the army of Italy entered Rome and seized it, once and for all, in the name of the Kingdom of Italy. Only the site occupied by the Vatican was spared from nationalization. What is generally not known, however, is that on that very same day, September 20, 1870, Guisseppe Mazzini and Albert Pike also signed another agreement. On that day, Mazzini and Pike formed the ‘Order of the New and Reformed Palladian Rite’, an order that most readers have probably never heard of.
Two questions arise: (1) What was the ‘Order of the New and Reformed Palladian Rite’, and (2) who was Albert Pike?
We begin with a quick look at Albert Pike. In the 1860s, Albert Pike was the President of the Supreme Council of Freemasons in Charleston, South Carolina, in the United States. Actually Pike was not just A powerful Freemason, Pike was probably THE most powerful Mason of the time in the United States! He was simultaneously the Grand Master of the Central Directory of Washington DC, and the Grand Commander of the Supreme Council of Charleston, and the Sovereign Pontiff of Universal Freemasonry.

While exiled in England, Guisseppe Mazzini, the Italian revolutionary, had become friends with one of the most powerful Freemasons in America! United by their common hatred of the Church, the two became fast friends. Mazzini was impressed by the power and influence wielded by Pike, while Pike was impressed by both Mazzini’s passionate fervor and his very skilled abilities in putting words to paper.
And what then was the ‘Order of the New and Reformed Palladian Rite’? On September 20, 1870, Albert Pike, the most powerful Grand Mason in the United States, and his ‘friend’, Giusseppe Mazzini, a Grand Mason in his own right, agreed to form a Masonic order which was to be higher in rank and greater in power than any other Masonic Lodge…in the world! This new lodge was to be comprised of nothing but the most exemplary Thirty-Third Degree Masons from the Lodges around the world. These ‘cream of the crop’ Grand Masons would join the ‘super-secret Ultra-Freemasons Society’ by invitation only. All members in the ‘Palladian Order’ had to keep their membership a secret…on pain of immediate death. There would be no trial and no deliberation, death was quick and merciless. So secret was the new Lodge that, unless they were members, not even the upper level Freemasons of the other Lodges knew about the ‘Palladian Order’. As testament to their secrecy, in a book called CYCLOPAEDIA OF FRATERNITIES, the ‘Palladian Order’ is described as “little known as the number of its members is strictly limited and the deepest secrecy surrounds all its deliberations.”
Mazzini was, after the formation of the new ‘Palladian Order’ in 1870, one of the two most powerful Freemasons…in the entire world! And it was by no accident. Mazzini had understood that the Freemasons were a powerful influence in the world, but he often saw them fighting and divided. Mazzini believed that by uniting the most powerful Freemasons of the world into one group, they could, essentially, control the events of the world.

The ‘Order of the New and Reformed Palladian Rite’ was a Lodge so secret that Masons at the highest levels hadn’t heard of it. In fact, most Freemasons today have probably never heard of it. Members of the ‘Palladian Rite’, or the ‘Palladium’ as it was called, denied that it even existed.
After signing their agreement, the two secret chiefs, Pike and Mazzini, ‘finally completed the organization of high masonry, establishing four Grand Central Directories for the world, functioning thenceforth to gather information for the benefit of their political policy and dogmatic propaganda. Under the new ‘Palladian Order’, Albert Pike was responsible for the spiritual direction of the Order and became the Sovereign Pontiff of Universal Freemasonry, while Giusseppe Mazzini became responsible for the execution of policy and was given the title of Sovereign Chief of Political Action.

In 1870 and the years that followed, Giusseppe Mazzini was one of the two most powerful Grand Masons in the world. The Mafia
A commonly offered explanation for the origin of the word ‘Mafia’ suggests that the name harkens back to the early Italian rebellions against the French. “The present-day Mafia is a vile perversion of a once patriotic and partisan secret brotherhood dedicated to freeing its native Sicily from the oppressive rule of the French Angevins in 1282. The Society’s battle slogan, was, according to legend, ‘Morte alla Francia, Italia anela!’ (‘Death to the French is Italy’s cry!’) The initial letters of this slogan (‘Morte alla Francia Italia anela’) formed the word (MAFIA) and came to symbolize the violently anti-French movement.”

The problem with this explanation is that in the 1200s, the common language in Sicily was Arabic. The Italian explanation, while sympathetic and plausible, does not seem very strong.
One explanation suggests that ‘Mafia’ is derived from the archaic French ‘maufer’, the god of evil. Other people say that it comes from the Arabic ‘mihfal’, ‘an assembly of many people’. But in Sicily itself, It is more often said that the word Mafia stands for ‘Mazzini Autorizza Furti, Incendi, Avvelanamenti’. This translates as ‘Mazzini authorizes robbery, arson and poisoning’.

While this explanation also seems quite plausible, it must be noted that the term ‘Mafia’ actually predates Mazzini. As with the earlier Italian explanation, it appears that some very clever writers managed to turn the letters of the word ‘Mafia’ into initials that seemed to justify the name itself.
It is almost certain that, given the history of the island of Sicily, the term ‘mafia’ has Arabic roots. Some researchers have pointed out that the Arabic word ‘Mu’ means ‘safety’ and that the verb ‘afah’ means ‘to protect’: ‘mu afah’ would therefore refer to the Mafia as a clan offering protection to its members. The most likely source of the term ‘Mafia’ probably comes from the Arab word ‘mafie’ (actually ‘maha’ or ‘mahias hajar’ in Arabic), rock caves in the area of Trapani and Marsala, which were used by Saracens, later by bandits, and finally by secret groups and bands of anti-Bourbon volunteers. When Garibaldi and his men invaded Sicily, he and his thousand men lived in the caves and were known as the ‘squadri della mahia’ or the ‘squadri della mafia’. The local Sicilian dialect transformed the sound ‘mahias’ into ‘Mafia’.

What is important to remember in the study of the ‘Mafia’ is that while it was most definitely violent and even murderous with the Sicilian people themselves in later years, in its earliest stages it was a society that protected the Sicilians from foreign aggressors and authorities.
For hundreds of years the Mafia was a champion of the Italian and Sicilian people, waging guerrilla warfare against the French and the other invaders of Sicily. In fact, in the early days of the Italian states, rich land barons relied on the ‘consertia mafiusa’ to keep unruly peasants in line. Even the Catholic church used the Mafia to protect its enormous land holdings.

Truth is, that from 1860 to 1924, not a single Sicilian politician was elected to the Italian Parliament without the Mafia’s stamp of approval.

One of the first to exploit the power and influence of the Mafia was Francesco Crispi, the man who preceded the hero Garibaldi into Sicily. Appointed to the position as Prime Minister of the United Italy, he rigged and influenced both local and national elections for his own purposes. He was later to earn the description ‘the worst mafioso of them all’.

On March 11, 1872, Giusseppe Mazzini died, and, at his request, Adriano Lemmi was appointed by Albert Pike to succeed Mazzini as chief of the Sovereign Executive Directory. Lemmi, a member of the ‘Palladian Order’, soon decided that the secret superior authority conferred on him could be best be used to unify the various Supreme Councils into one ultimately superior Council…his. Rather than undertake a long and drawn out battle between the Lodges, Lemmi went directly to Albert Pike, the Sovereign Pontiff of Freemasonry. On January 21, 1885, the Supreme Council of Rome was absorbed by the Grand Orient of Italy, the Lodge of Adriano Lemmi.

Between Adriano Lemmi and Francesco Crispi, with the power and influence of the Freemasons and the Mafia, Italian politics became nothing more than great theater. “As a result of Lemmi’s politics in the elections of 1890, no decent honest and independent candidate for political position had a chance of being elected against one of his hand-picked nominees. Italian politics became a Freemasonic monopoly and the people were mercilessly exploited by the dregs (Author - read ‘Mafia’) of society backed by Lemmi and his money, much of which was extorted from the Banca Romana.”

But Lemmi’s machinations were not over. Money and power, in the person of the Mafia and Freemasonry, were on his side. On April 2, 1891, Albert Pike died and was succeeded in the Supreme Grand College of Masons by Albert George Mackey, who held the post for two years and five months. On May 20, 1893, at the Sovereign Convention of Masonic Lodges, a rigged vote resulted in the transfer of power from Charleston to Rome under the hand of one Adriano Lemmi. The coup was complete.

Ladies and Gentlemen…near the end of the Nineteenth century, Freemasonry at its highest levels and the Mafia were united in their efforts! Originally brought together to fight for the freedom of the Italian republic, by the end of the 1800s, Italian and Sicilian politics provided the platform from which the ‘ultra-secret’ ‘Palladian Order’ of Grand Masonry and the Mafia began their quests to conquer the world.
According to some experts, the ‘Order of the New and Reformed Palladian Rite’ died out, never to be seen again. But did it? The history of Freemasonry in Italy suggests that it did not. Perhaps what happened is that the ‘Palladian Order’ achieved its goal - manipulation of events from behind a screen of low level ‘secret societies’, groups that were not even aware that the Palladians even existed.
